Today we took a nature walk through our school grounds and gardens. Each pupil had their own scavenger hunt worksheet to spot all the different ‘summer treasures’ they could find. This activity appealed to the sensory needs of my SEN group. We were able to touch, smell and feel different plants, trees, grass and other summer items we found.

We also used our imagination to stick play. I encouraged my SEN group to use their imagination to create some different ‘super sticks’. The boys were eager to create a stick man and I encouraged them to forage for different items that could be used for the eyes, nose, mouth etc.
